What Our Patients Say

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Blepharoplasty?

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of excess skin, muscle and fatty tissue from the eyelids to improve appearance and functionality. In some cases, the tissues can be repositioned rather than removed. The surgery can be performed on the upper and lower eyelids,  addressing various issues, including drooping skin, puffiness and bags under the eyes.

Eyelid surgery aims to create a more youthful appearance while potentially improving peripheral vision obstructed by sagging skin.

How Is Blepharoplasty Surgery Performed?

Dr. Soler performs blepharoplasty under general anesthesia. Depending on your goals, he can perform upper or lower eyelid surgery or both. Here is his process for eye lift surgery in Tampa:

- Dr. Soler will make incisions in the natural crease of your upper eyelid or just below your eyelash line.

- Through the incisions, Dr. Soler will remove the excess skin and fat or redistribute it.

- Lastly, Dr. Soler will close the incisions.

Any mild discomfort can be controlled by oral medication, which Dr. Soler will prescribe. It may take a week or two for any bruises or sensitivity to completely diminish post-surgery. Any swelling also disappears during the same time frame. Once the sutures are removed, you can begin using eye makeup as well.
